Course Overview

First Aid + CPR training gives you the practical skills and knowledge to respond to common injuries, medical emergencies and accidents in the workplace or community. The course covers first-aid response, CPR, and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). You’ll complete pre-course online learning followed by practical, face-to-face training and assessment with a qualified trainer.

Who Is This Course For?

This course is suitable for:

    • workers who need current workplace first aid and CPR training
    • supervisors and team leaders with first aid responsibilities
    • people who may need to provide first aid in workplace or community settings
    • anyone looking to develop practical first aid and emergency response skills
    • Those who are required to complete a refresher: HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation is recommended to be refreshed every 12 months. First Aid training is recommended every 3 years.

 

What You’ll Learn

You’ll learn how to:

    • recognise and respond to an emergency situation
    • perform CPR in line with Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines
    • use an automated external defibrillator (AED)
    • respond to common injuries and medical emergencies
    • monitor and provide ongoing care to a casualty
    • communicate important information during and after a first aid incident

7 hours

Delivery mode:
Blended delivery, including pre-course online learning followed by face-to-face practical training.

Location:

Entry Requirements

Before attending, learners must:

    • successfully complete the online pre-course quiz and LLN assessment
    • be physically able to perform continuous CPR on the floor for at least 2 minutes
    • bring valid photo identification on the day
    • wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing and enclosed footwear

 

Certification / Outcome

Successful participants will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the following units:

    • HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid
    • HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
