Course Overview

Working at Heights training provides the skills and knowledge required to work safely at heights in the resources and infrastructure industries. It is designed for people working in operational roles who need to identify hazards, use appropriate safety systems and equipment, and carry out work at heights safely. The course includes practical activities involving fall protection equipment, risk controls and safe work procedures.

Entry Requirements

Participants must:

  • have the physical ability to complete practical confined space activities, which may include climbing ladders while maintaining three points of contact, wearing a full body harness, being suspended in a harness, entering and working in a confined space, and manual handling
  • have sufficient language, literacy and numeracy skills to read, interpret, complete and communicate workplace documents and procedures and perform basic calculations
  • successfully complete the LLN assessment
  • must be at least 18 years of age
  • Participants are recommended to provide and wear a hard hat, long clothing, steel cap boots and gloves.

 

Certification / Outcome

Successful participants who meet all training and assessment requirements will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for: RIIWHS204E – Work safely at heights.
